I have hunch that one of you might have cursed my NYC trip... it was a disaster.
We started driving for NYC in the evening at around 8PM from PIT and it took 7 hrs of driving to reach there!!! Last one hour, we were roaming around near NYC border to find our hotel. Man! It is difficult not to survive without internet and GPS. I had to find the direction using my phone to reach hotel.
Next day, once again, map problem ... New York is a labyrinth, seriously! We got lost so many times. Finally, we were there in liberty state park at 2PM. We could not go on top of the statue, because it requires the permit to be taken at least two days before the visit. Anyways, we started for Times Square from there. How many of you have been to Dharmatala, Kolkata? Rajesh, Anindya, you should have. Imagine too much lights and high-rise buildings in Dharmatala and you are in Times Square. You will find same kind of noise and rule-breaking... you follow just one rule... dont follow any :P
Times Square is pretty close to Empire State. Once the tallest building on earth is the biggest hype. You pay $18-60 for different kind of views and audio tours. You get a nice view of the city from there, but 60$ for such a view only! Thats ridiculous!!!
We could not go for the Broadway show. I wanted to experience that, but due to lack of time and the f***ing traffic of NYC, we could not make it. Anyways, there is always a next time :)
Yesterday, we had lunch in a Bangladeshi restaurant. Dude! That was awesome. Authentic Bengali food and fish after such a long time!!! We bought ~200$ worth fish from there, including hilsa, pomfret etc. Looks like I am going to have mast type food here :D
I shall send link to the pics soon. The "preliminary stage" thingy is too immature to broadcast right now. I shall tell you that if I get any response. Rajesh, that plan was not "our", you are the one who might be interested in it. Anyways, no work and only masti is my intention, but the horrible weather is the problem. Almost everyday, there is going to be a thunderstorm for next couple of days and it is always cloudy. I already miss sunny California. Anyways, I shall keep you updated with my status. 8 hours of driving is not possible again dude! I shall fly to NYC sometime later, may be in a year... Broadway has to wait for me till then ;)
Aur kaha kaha ghumne ka plan hai, in coming days?
We are planning to go for camping in next weekend in Allegheny National Forest Campgrounds or some other one. It rains here all the time... according to weather prediction, it is not going to rain tomorrow. I am thinking of renting a car tomorrow and visit the places in Pittsburgh.
